Once again, “Doc” Mabry has come through with another excellent medical suspense. Medical Judgment is his latest release from Abingdon Press. As I read, I couldn’t help but be pulled into the story with Mabry’s latest characters, who are varied and well developed. Although the stage was set for the ending, it was still a surprise when Sarah’s stalker was revealed. So kudos to “Doc” for another excellent read. Again, I can highly recommend Medical Judgment to anyone who loves to read medical suspense.

Margie’s Comments: I love medical mysteries and thrillers, and Doc Richard Mabry tops the list of authors I enjoy reading in this genre. His newest release, Miracle Drug, doesn’t disappoint my expectations when reading a medical thriller. 

The plot is well paced and starts off with a bang . . . and ends with a bang, as well. J The characters are “real” and well written. From the untimely death of the former President’s chief medical physician to the explosive ending, the characters grow, change, and in many cases end up much stronger spiritually, emotionally, and physically, knowing that in the end God is always in control.

                   

The only thing I don’t like about reading medical thrillers is the symptoms my mind tries to imitate. I have come to the conclusion that I have an overactive imagination! If you or someone you know loves the complexities of the medical profession and pharmacology, I highly recommend Miracle Drug by Richard Mabry.

Margie's Comments: "Doc" Mabry has another winner in Critical Condition. Every book I read authored by Richard Mabry is better than the one before. His characters are so real, I feel like I'm going to see them the next time I'm at a hospital. But not only are they real in their personalities, their struggles, their spiritual walk, they deal with real-life situations. This is the first book I've ever read that has a character diagnosed with the same cancer as my mother had—I relived the memory of getting that phone call from her telling me of her diagnosis and treatment through Shannon's experience. I am not trained in the medical field, but my mother was an R.N. and freely shared her knowledge and all the complications that could arise. With that one event in the book, I completely bonded with Shannon and Megan, and I longed to call them up and reassure them they would make it through this one difficult situation. I also appreciate the strong spiritual thread throughout the story, part of each character's makeup. Very well done without beating the reader over the head. Critical Condition is a medical thriller that will sit at the top of my list for a long time to come. I highly recommend it.

Margie's Comments: Stress Test is the latest in Doc Mabry's medical thrillers. And I believe this is the strongest one to date! Wow! What a fast-paced read. I'm breathless! The characters and the plot kept my attention throughout. I love stories where the main characters' faith is strengthened, not weakened, by the events of the book. And this book is no exception. God has a way in real life of stripping us down to the bare essentials in order to direct us into the best pathway for our lives. And Doc Mabry has ably depicted this in Stress Test. An excellent, fast-paced read, combining the best of medical and legal thrillers.
