Retreat

Last week I drove to Hutchinson, Kansas, to join three other writer friends in a week-long retreat. We met at Kim Vogel Sawyer's home. She's getting ready to move to a larger home, so we helped her pack. But we took time to brainstorm ideas, plot line, GMCs (goals, motivations, conflicts) of characters, hone synopses, and do some historical research. Three of us in the group write historicals in various subgenres. We had such a good time working, playing, talking, crying, and laughing. And Kim treated us so well. Today she blogged about some of our time together on The Writes of Passage blog. Check it out.
