Verse of the Day

I've been reading in Genesis, and today's reading covered Isaac's birth and Abraham's faith-filled obedience when God asked him to sacrifice the son of promise. It reminded me of these verses. I want this kind of faith.

Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb; yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. (Romans 4:19–21)

These verses in The Message paint a wonderful picture of Abraham's faith:
He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. (Romans 4:20–21)
